Start: Which one are you going for?
The next step is deciding what type of site yours will be. Here is a list with a short description of come of the more common types of sites on the internet.
The Personal Web Page - this is a site that is basically about you and your life. You may want a simple blog for the world to read about your every day life or just to say you have one. These sites tipically have lots of pictures and can be made several ways with out much knowledge of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language). You can usually use one of the many infamous WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors to make these type of web pages. These can also be used as interest or hobby pages. This is the type of site we will concentrate on in the rest of this article.
The Niche/Turn Key/Template Sites - these are usually very generic and bland with a purpose of easy money without any work just pay for the site and maybe customize a logo or two. Such sites are seeing a strong trend of online users avoiding them because of poor service, high prices, and phishing fraud. This is not to say that all sites such as these fail or have low profit margins, but if you don’t know how to code and customize them, it is becoming a rarity.
The E-Commerce Site - If this is what you are interested in building and don’t know anything about building WebPages, there are some templates and software solutions available but then your site may end up looking like one of the ones described above. If you have no experience with this type of site you might want to consider herring someone if it is time critical or be prepared to spend a lot of time reading and practicing before you make the investment and it may save you a considerable amount of time in the process.
